The Fort Worth Dragoons are having a great year. It is Montes contract year. He would not resign before the season started stating that he wanted to play for a winning team.
This year General Manager Hitch has his team in that direction. The team is second in their division and have the third best record in the league. The Dragoons have beaten the Tritons twice at Big Joe Mufferaw Arena. The Tritons have only six losses all year.
Fort Worth Coach Booker has his team on a five game win streak. He has coached 8 wins in the last 10 games making the Dragoons the hottest team in the league during this time. During this streak there were wins against the Archers and Buzzards also. Many believe it is due to the heavy home schedule that the Texas team is doing well. Hitchs' team is 21-5 at home and 7-9 on the road.
Will the winning season and the Dragoons ability to pay Montes more than any other team be enough to keep him in Fort Worth? Will there be enough cap space to field a talented team next year?
"Those are questions for next year. We believe this year can be our year to win. Many general managers think we aren't capable. It will be up to our players and coaching staff to prove them wrong." Hitch stated.
