I don't really get this trade for Tom. I guess he is working to get his fouls down, but with Deans and Heath instead of Ottinger and McClelland he already did enough for this IMO.
I think Williams is by a good portion better than Lagon, as he pretty much does everything Lagon does, but adds passing and steals to it (yes also some fouls). But something like 2.8 fouls per 36 minutes isn't very bad either, others do that in 26 minutes.
Great great deal for the Archers, who now after their FA are clear #1 favourite for the title in my eyes. What a great roster they have now! And Williams is the perfect SG to have next to Wall at PG.
Stay metric!

I'm making serious cup runs before the ticking time bomb that is the 2027 season will do who knows what to my franchise. I was pretty doggone close last season and felt I was always struggling to pull my blanket of defense over not just the SunKings but everyone else only find it was just not enough to cover the other team. Williams serves that end. Now I have a first team all defense guard (Wall) paired with a second team all defense guard (Williams). I have two top shelf ball hawks. I feel good about my starting back court and, when I look at the back courts in London and St. Louis (who I see as top contenders for a cup), it feels like I needed to do this if I was going to make a serious run.

Tampa is in a different place. Lagon will retain his effectiveness for more seasons and can overlap better with their present youth movement. Not like GMs are throwing away younger players who can score 20 ppg. He's also a super efficient, willing scorer who makes a great target for Frisby.

And sure, Lagon doesn't pass like Williams but Williams isn't foul immune like Lagon. Yes, Lagon doesn't play PSD like Williams but Williams doesn't draw fouls like Lagon. 'Round and round. If you've ever had Lagon foul out your player (and, if you've read your PBP, you'll know you have... I've seen it) and then go off on your backup, then you'll know the problem he poses. Teams going against him have to have depth and not just at the position he plays either. He'll hang fouls on everyone on the floor. Also, one completely superfluous thing... he has the most in game dunk attempts I've seen since Cole. I'll be sad to lose that in my PBP. :(

Tampa also gets the former #7 pick who scored double digits while shooting 57% in the D-League and a "three point specialist with other skills" type SF who are 21 and 22 respectively. Plenty of potential there for his staff to work with.

I hate to break up a team that won 61 last season. HATE IT. I do think I got the better end but only because of where my team is... it's not like I offered up the poo poo platter of useless, expiring salary (like, say.... Elbert Lewis, Jamel Tomlin, Emanuel Devos, and Dominique Bahena) for Williams' rights.

Obviously, Williams is the best player in the trade. That cannot be questioned.
However, I think Lagon is a great fit for my team for reasons already highlighted and explained very well by Eric.

In my own words though....Lagon gives my team what I envision as a true #1 scoring option which we do not have and I don't see Williams as that #1 option.
Lagon helps diversify the way we can score and helps our offensive efficiency. We can now score in a variety of ways not just by hitting 3's. Lagon can score via the jumper, in the post and at the foul line and when we go cold Lagon's foul drawing ability helps negate those poor shooting nights.

I like the trade for Eric a whole lot....he quite simply became the AmCon favorite by acquiring Williams (I think) but I like it for me just as much if only because I feel like I have a "Tritons" team once again.

Will be interesting how it pans out for you Tom, but I already hate that Eric obviously got better. Don't play down your role Mr. Commissioner, you are now the top contender for the cup!

I'm not down playing anything. I said that I'm arming up to compete with the defending Champions and one of the perennial playoff teams in the National Confeernce (i.e. London).

I'm not going to undersell this one bit. I'm coming for your crown. Granted, many other teams are too so let's light this candle. :D
